Consumers may be thrown by all the different mobile devices on the market. But app developers face an even thornier problem. Creating software for the mobile landscape has become harder as the sheer number of different devices have proliferated.
LG Electronics overhauled its Android product line today, with the flagship Optimus G Pro leading the way.
The company devices its Optimus line into four categories: its G series for deep-pocketed early adopters, the F series with the mission of “4G LTE for everyone,” the lower-end L series, and the Vu tablets.
Available for Android, with an incarnation also optimized for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, the app visualizes the myriad of networks that constitute that thing known as the Internet. It shows Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Internet exchange points, and organizations that help route traffic across the online sphere, such as universities.
Driving and smartphones don’t mix well. While you can get a lot done using voice commands with Siri on your iPhone, you still have to activate her.
